Promote Welfare & Wellbeing of Students Safe-Guard from Abuse Protect their Rights Represent their Voices

Introduction:

Standing for the position of Vice-President for Welfare in the coming Election.

Qualifications: 

MA M.Ed. in English Language Education.

Professional Development Award in Health and Social Care, SCQF Level 7

Certificate in Health and Mental Well-being from RGU

NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care

Third Year Student in M A Psychology.

Former Lecturer in Education at Mahatma Gandhi University College of Education, Kottayam, Kerala, India

Twelve Years of Teaching Experience at Primary Level at Various Government Schools in Wayanad,  Kerala, India

Currently, working at NHS Grampian.

Fifteen Years of Experience working in both Private and Public Health Care Sector since 2008

Student Representative of Psychology in the Second Year.

Well-being Officer of Aberdeen University Psychology Society

What are your three priorities for the year?

1. Work for promoting the Welfare, Health and Mental Well-being of Students and the community by conducting various programmes and activities in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities

2. Protect their rights by representing their Voices at University, National and International Level by allocating sufficient funds from the University, Council and State by getting support the fun from the Members of Parliament and Assembly and from  the Council.

3. Protect from Abuse, Safe-guard them from Violence and aggression and respect their dignity

Good Knowledge about the Health, Welfare and Mental Well-being of students.

Experience in promoting the Culture, Literacy and Recreational Activities of the Community by working as the former Vice- Chairperson of Aberdeen Malayalee Association.

Experience of working as the Honorary Secretary of YMCA Varadoor, Wayanad and as the Sub- Regional Convenor of Wayanad Sub-Region.

Participated in the Total Literacy Programme of India Government by working as the Assistant Project Officer in the Literacy Mission in Kottayam District.

Experience in Working as Supervisor of Literacy Centres in Wayanad District and promote the cultural and Educational needs of the Tribal people.

What do you think is the biggest issue that students are facing at the moment and how do you plan to tackle it?        

I believe the biggest issue of that the students are facing at present is poor health and mental wellbeing. Their safety and security can be in danger due to the violence, aggression and abuse in various types.

I give priority to safe-guard them form Violence, Abuse and Protect their Rights and represent their voices at University, National and International Level by keeping confidentiality and approach them with empathy, congruence and unconditional positive Regard
