Welcome to Clays

The University of Aberdeen Clay Pigeon Club is inclusive and welcoming to students across all ability levels, from those who have never held a gun to those that are rarely seen without one. The club offers shoots held at the stunningly picturesque Seal’s Cove Shooting Ground and hosts weekly socials all year round!

Competitions & Balls

We also have a full calendar of shooting competitions and black tie balls. Join as soon as university starts to be able to attend the St Andrews Challenge and the legendary Welly Ball in November! Later in the academic year we also travel to nationally renowned competitions and balls hosted by Edinburgh and Durham. Don't forget our very own Competition and Dinner! Follow our Instagram to view such antics with your own eyes!

Weekly Shooting

The club hosts its main weekly shoot every Saturday afternoon (and Wednesdays when lessons have been organised), meeting at Morrisons on King Street, we then drive out to Seal’s Cove and spend a few hours smashing clays. If you have never shot before or don’t have a licence, do not worry, we will arrange two lessons for you (usually on a Wednesday) with professional instructors after which you will be free to shoot with any licence-holding member. The lessons are usually £30 each.

How to Join?

Thinking about joining? If you are even slightly interested in putting on your wellies and picking up a gun to shoot some clays, reach out to us in any way! Feel free to drop us a message on Instagram/Facebook or reach out to any members of the committee.
