1. They are elected by students in the Spring Term.

2. The Sabbs all come from different backgrounds, with different experiences and degrees (some don’t even graduate before being a sabbatical)!

3. They are employed by AUSA but can still join Societies and Clubs! The just can’t join your committees.

1. Women and Non-Binary Students' Forum
The Women and Non-Binary Forum is a community at the University which exists to provide appropriate support for issues facing self-defining women and non-binary students and fight for our liberation. It is a liaison between societies, students and AUSA. More information here.

2. Disabled Students' Forum
The Disabled Students’ Forum is a space for all self-defining disabled students to be represented and to allow them to campaign on issues affecting disabled students in AUSA, Aberdeen University and beyond. Campaigning on issues like: ensuring access to DSA; that AUSA and University buildings and events are accessible; fighting against cuts nationally, locally and on campus. The disabled students’ forum also allows for a place for disabled students to meet and support one another. Please come along and get involved if you self-define as disabled, whether your disability is invisible or visible everyone is welcome to be a part of the campaign. More information here.

3. LGBTQ+ Students' Forum
The LGBTQ+ Forum is a safe space for anyone under the LGBTQ+ umbrella, but everyone is welcome! The forum organise events every week, such as game nights, movie screenings, night outs and more and we host a fortnightly LGBTea, a laid-back social with tea, biscuits and chats! They also campaign for LGBTQ+ causes and fundraise for various charities. More information here.

4. Black and Minority Ethnic Students' Forum
The Black and Minority Ethnic Students Forum aim to represent all students that identify under the BME umbrella and counter prejudice and discrimination against minority ethnic students on campus, while promoting and engaging in radical critical thinking about race. The forum are an intersectional safe space for minority ethnic students and do not tolerate discrimination on the basis of religion, sexuality, gender expression and/or able-bodiedness. 5. Trans Students' Forum
The Trans Students' Forum is a space for trans students at Aberdeen University to make their voices heard and campaign on their own behalf for liberation on and off campus. The Trans Students' Forum is a democratic and autonomous group within AUSA that pushes for the rights of all students who identify under the trans umbrella, which is taken to include anyone whose gender identity does not match that which they were assigned at birth. 1. Student Council
Student Council is a democratically elected body of students who volunteer their time to raise, discuss and pass campaigns and motions to shape the work of the association for the year ahead. You can get involved in Student Council and help drive forward the student body’s priorities by representing the views of your fellow students. More information here.

2. Class Rep
Class Reps are elected student volunteers chosen by their fellow students who function as a vital link between staff and students, fostering and maintaining open dialogue to improve students’ learning experience. Class Reps are elected at the beginning of an academic year or semester and they represent your views and concerns, ensuring your courses and programmes are the best they can be. They work together with staff at Student-Staff Liaison Committee (SSLC) meetings that are normally held once a term. If you are interested in learning more, visit here.

3. Committees
There are nine democratically elected student committees that are chaired by the Sabbatical Officers and four elected committee chairs: Societies, Qatar, Foresterhill and Raising and Giving. Any current student can nominate themselves to be elected onto the committees. The elections are normally organised twice a year, at the end of the second semester and at the beginning of the first semester. Committee representatives sit on the Student Council and help drive forward campaigns and motions to shape the work of the association for the year ahead. Find out more here.

4. Liberation Forums
AUSA has 5 liberation forums and 4 section forums as part of its structure, which exist to promote the interests of, and organise events for students who are part of certain groups. For more information on the each forum check out their page and get involved here.

5. AUSA General Meetings and AGMs
AUSA's Annual General Meeting (AGM) provides a chance for students to learn about the achievements of AUSA and the Trustee Board during the previous academic year, how the Association has been doing financially and what it will do in the future. AGM also ensures that all students have an opportunity to vote on policy matters within the Association. Learn more here.
